Unique and special

Built with his own hands by a humble, uneducated farmer.

Built with recycled materials and unusual architectural solutions.

Cathedral not consecrated as a religious building since the church does not recognize it as such.

International tourist monument.

Building constructed without plans with an extension of

4,700 square meters:

1 central nave with two floors.

12 towers of 60 meters.

28 domes.

3 convention halls.

1 baptistery.

1 underground crypt.

1 cloister.

Multiform staircases.

Dependencies and offices.

Walls, pillars, columns, arches, and stained glass windows.

The feat of its construction has featured:

Aquarius commercial.

MoMA Photo Exhibition

This cathedral is poor and humble

as far as materials are concerned.

Its luxury lies in the pure faith with which it was elevated by its creator,

a man who lived, worked and died in it

in the most absolute austerity.

New paragraph

Farmer without studies, pioneer in the use of recycled materials.

He began building a cathedral on his own in 1961,

after being expelled from the Cistercian monastery of Santa María in Soria

for suffering from tuberculosis.

He dedicated his entire life to building this unique work, challenging

the established canons,

receiving sporadic help from volunteers who collaborated with him in his faith project.

He died at the age of 96.
